The dogs shown below have a special need. In some cases the special need is a temporary condition and in other cases it is a lifetime condition. These dogs present unique challenges and can require greater effort on the part of the adopting family. Elderly dogs or dogs with medical conditions may require additional effort (such as a special diet or regular medication) or additional expenses due to required veterinary visits.
